Testimonials

Silkwood Steiner is a richly rewarding school for adults and children alike.

You will see the anticipation and delight in your child's eyes every morning and hear their quickly learnt songs and verses at the wonder of the world. You will feel their joyful hugs and kisses fueled from the pleasure and wonder they discover at school. Its not just a job for the teachers and staff, it's a passion and a lifestyle. This is reflected in their outlook and shows through the children in their beliefs and learning.

"Silkwood Steiner School is a unique and very special learning environment that not only promotes healthy academic and social development in children, but also provides a very supportive and creative community for all family members to benefit from.

Through first hand observation as a parent and a psychologist, I have come to the conclusion that this form of education truly acknowledges each child for their individuality and their unique strengths and talents. The students are consistently provided opportunities to recognize their capabilities, fostering confidence to expand their skills and knowledge."

"Silkwood Steiner School is the most caring and nurturing school you could find for your children.   My son began in Class 5 and improved immensely in his work and his attitude.   I am thankful that I have found such a beautiful school and now have my two younger children enrolled. I happily recommend this School for children of all ages knowing that high academic achievements can be obtained through a nurturing and gentle process."

J Kacic

"My Children and importantly our family as a whole have been fortunate to be able in be embraced in the genuine warmth and care that embodies Silkwood and the teachers, staff volunteers in not only as a school but as a community. Learning is now a joy for my son, in contrast to his previous experiences prior to his commencement at Silkwood. Not only is his academic ability nurtured but also the person he is inside. My daughter has just begun her journey at Silkwood also and we look forward to the path we will all walk together."

Letters from last years Class 7

Jesinta

To the children and staff of Silkwood,

Firstly, I would like to thank Attilio for guiding me through these seven unforgettable years, you have showed me what it is to blossom.

I would also like to say a huge thanks to Kalindi who has shown me what it means to believe in myself. You have inspired me with your words and kind ways. You really mean something to me.

And thank-you to the children who have loved me for who I am.

I would like to thank you all for opening up many opportunities for me during the time I was at Silkwood. This school has been an amazing experience for me over these past seven years.

Every day I arrive at school I feel as if I am at home, this is because of the community and all their kind hearts, thank you all for that.

When I hear 'Silkwood' I remember all the warm memories I have had here, these will live on in my heart forever.

Thank-you,

Jesinta

Dear Staff and Children of Silkwood,

I would like to say thank you for everything that you have done for me. Being at Silkwood has changed my life and I am very thankful for it.   At my old school I was being teased and couldn't understand most of the work (mostly math's) but when I came here things changed for me. I made friends and didn't get teased, I also understood the work, could learn more and got my work done easier.

The many friends I have made here I hope to keep for many years to come. The ones I have left behind I will miss them very much and keep in touch by phone and hopefully visit often.

I have had many adventures here and hope to have more in my life to come. I will hope to keep in touch with the school to let you how I am getting on. I will miss you all very dearly and hope your lives turn out as well as mine has so far, and hope you all make the right decisions in all you do.

I have been here for about four years and enjoyed every moment of it, I would like to say to all the children that come and go in the future, that never give up, everything you do in life will stay with you forever and always treat people with respect.

Thank you Silkwood for organizing many workshops and camps such as: Drum Workshop, Fire Stick Workshop, Poi Workshop, Numinbah Valley Camp, Camp Warrawie, Jondarian Woolshed and Mee-bun-Bia Canoeing camp.

My favourite camp was this years camp, the Mee-Bun-bia Canoeing camp. We canoed up and down the Noosa River, we made our own dinner, lunch and breakfast, and we hiked up to these big sand dunes. It was hard work but worth it.

I have to say goodbye now. Good-bye to all my friends and goodbye to all the staff goodbye for a while.   I'll miss you guys!

Yours dearly,

Stephanie Peters
